I bought this 1966-67 Höfner 500/1 Beatle bass in 1974 from Roy Brooks (Yee Haw!), a shipmate on the USS Pigeon (ASR-21). He sold me this bass with a Standel 100w dual 15″ bass amp. I have kept it ever since. Serial No. 2601 (2694) is stamped on the back of the headstock, just below the Made in Germany decal. (Höfner Serials)
