Friday 5 for May 2: Spicy!

  • How do you feel about spicy food?

Uh, hot?

  • What kinds of condiments do you add to food in order to spice things up a bit?

Uh, hot sauce? Specifically, I love D.L. Jardine’s Texas Champagne. Buy it by the gallon when I can find it! 🙂

  • Not counting salt and pepper, what’s your favorite flavor enhancer when cooking?

I use this stuff called “Kitchen Bouquet” to color and flavor my gravy. But it’s not spicy. I might add some Texas Champagne to help out!

  • What’s the spiciest food you’ve ever eaten?

That’s easy: jalapeños! Or was it the backyard chili peppers my mom made me eat when she caught me cussing!

  • In what way might some other aspect of your daily life be spiced up, and what’s keeping that from happening right now?

The serious answer? Nah, don’t want to go there. Sorry.

SIDE NOTE TO READERS:

Well, it’s been a while since I posted anything here besides the photos from the phone. Guess I’ll try to write more often.

I’ve been writing like a demon, actually. I’ve been writing for the monthly newspaper that my work place publishes. I’m primarily the webmaster, ad sales and subscriptions guy for our news operation. But each month, I seem to pick up more and more writing assignments. This in addition to becoming chief photographer and occasional video guy, too.

This month, I wrote the cover story and one feature story (and shot photos for both)! I also did a photo-essay on the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards. And on deadline day, I wrote two more stories in the span of about an hour. Bang ‘um out, baby!

Mr. Utility Player, that’s me! Cleanup batter pulled a hammy? I’m in! Guaranteed to get something going, no matter what! That’s me.

Put me in, coach! I’m ready to play, today.
